Here's a compelling find for collectors of Canadian folk-rock: Murray McLauchlan's "Into A Mystery" on the original True North pressing from 1980. This album marked a fascinating transitional period for McLauchlan, who by this time had already established himself as one of Canada's most respected singer-songwriters with classics like "The Farmer's Song" and "Down By The Henry Moore." Coming off his more commercially successful late '70s period, "Into A Mystery" saw McLauchlan exploring a more introspective, spiritually-minded direction while maintaining the rootsy authenticity that made him a cornerstone of the Canadian folk revival.
