Natural Gas is a hard rock band from London, Greater London, England, United Kingdom, that was formed in 1975. The band split up in 1977.
Short-lived (one studio album) supergroup made up of Joey Molland of Badfinger, Jerry Shirley of Humble Pie, Mark Clarke of Uriah Heep / Colosseum and Peter Wood of Aardvark.
Their self-titled album was recorded at Crystal Studios in Los Angeles and was produced by legendary Mountain member Felix Papalardi, but although it was released to critical praise, their debutwould became the band's only release. Joey Molland soon-after returned to Badfinger, while Jerry Shirley would go on to work with Fastway and eventually return to Humble Pie. Mark Clarke found work with Rainbow, Billy Squier and Leslie West, while Peter Wood (who passed away in 1993) would later work with Roger Waters and Bob Dylan. The 'Natural Gas' album sadly drifted into obscurity and eventually would become a much sought after collector's item.
