Here's a fascinating piece of Neil Young history that most collectors either love or pretend doesn't exist. "Everybody's Rockin'" represents Young's notorious rockabilly phase, recorded with his backing band The Shocking Pinks during his tumultuous relationship with Geffen Records. This album sits right in the middle of Young's legendary creative rebellion against his label, who famously sued him for making music that was "not commercial" and "uncharacteristic" of Neil Young. The irony, of course, is that this rockabilly collection was arguably his most commercially accessible work of the early '80s, though it confused the hell out of fans expecting another "Harvest."
