Description Released as an in-store promotional LP by WEA Music of Canada in Spring 1983, New Music captured the pulse of emerging sounds across synthpop, new wave, and post-punk. This sampler featured breakout tracks from rising stars and genre-defining acts, many of whom would dominate the charts and reshape pop culture throughout the decade.

Yaz’s “Only You” and Berlin’s “Sex (I’m A…)” brought synth-driven intimacy and provocation, while Echo & The Bunnymen’s “The Cutter” and U2’s “War” delivered post-punk urgency and political edge.
