Noel Harrison's 1969 album on Reprise Records, "The Great Electric Experiment Is Over" finds the British singer-songwriter — son of actor Rex Harrison — moving away from the polished pop sound that brought him mainstream attention and leaning into a more stripped-down, acoustic folk rock direction. Harrison had scored a hit with his version of "The Windmills of Your Mind" the year prior, and this record reflects a quieter, more introspective side, with gentle arrangements and an overall contemplative tone throughout.
