Historic Performances Recorded At The Monterey International Pop Festival is a 1970 live album on Reprise Records documenting two of the most celebrated sets from the landmark 1967 Monterey Pop Festival, split between Otis Redding and The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Redding's side captures his electrifying soul and R&B performance, including "Shake" and "I've Been Loving You Too Long," recorded just months before his death. Hendrix's side showcases his psychedelic rock showmanship, featuring his incendiary cover of "Wild Thing," the performance famously culminating in him setting his guitar on fire.
