Paper Lace was a British pop group from Nottingham who scored a pair of major international hits in 1974, and this self-titled Canadian Polydor release collects that material along with additional tracks in a similar vein. The album is best known for containing "Billy, Don't Be a Hero" and "The Night Chicago Died," both of which reached number one in the UK and US respectively that year. The overall sound is melodic pop-rock with strong vocal harmonies and a light, radio-friendly feel typical of mid-70s British pop.
