Pete Seeger's "Abiyoyo and Other Story Songs for Children" is a 1967 Folkways Records release featuring the beloved folk singer and activist performing a collection of story-based songs aimed at young listeners. The title track, "Abiyoyo," is a South African lullaby and folk tale that Seeger had been performing for years before recording it here, telling the story of a giant defeated by a boy and his father. The album sits comfortably within the children's folk tradition, blending storytelling with simple, engaging melodies in Seeger's characteristic style.
