Powder Blues were a Vancouver-based blues outfit led by Tom Lavin, and Uncut is their second album, released in 1980 on RCA. The band played a polished modern electric blues and blues rock style that found considerable commercial success in Canada during this period. The album follows up their debut Thirsty Ears and continues in a similar vein of accessible, radio-friendly blues with strong horn arrangements and tight production.
