Rick Avery and Judy Greenhill are a Canadian folk duo who released *Harbour Grace (Songs of Eastern Canada)* in 1981 on J + R Records. The album is a collection of traditional and original folk songs drawn from the musical heritage of Eastern Canada, featuring acoustic arrangements rooted in the regional folk traditions of the Atlantic provinces. The title track references Harbour Grace, Newfoundland, and the record as a whole reflects the storytelling and community-focused character typical of Maritime folk music from that era.
"Harbour Grace -Songs Of Eastern Canada" was recorded in 1980 and produced by Paul Mills, (aka Curly Boy Stubbs). As the title implies, this collection of (mostly) traditional Canadian Folk Music reflects the traditions and heritage of Canada’s Eastern provinces, from the haunting strains of the voyageur song, "En Montant La Riviere" to the irreverent Newfoundland humour of Dick Nolan’s "Aunt Martha’s Sheep".
Features Grit Laskin and Jim Strickland of the Friends Of Fiddler's Green.
