Ricky Nelson's self-titled 1966 album on Sunset Records is a compilation drawing from his late 1950s and early 1960s recordings, capturing the California teen idol at his rockabilly-inflected best. Nelson was one of the defining figures of early American rock and roll, rising to fame through his family's television show before scoring a string of genuine hits.
