Roxy Music - Avalon 1982 Vinyl Lp
Released in May 1982, Avalon was Roxy Music’s eighth and final studio album, recorded across sessions in the UK, New York, and the Bahamas. It marked a stylistic shift toward a smoother, more ambient sound, pioneering the sophisti-pop genre and showcasing Bryan Ferry’s evolution as a mature lyricist.
The album produced three singles—“More Than This,” “Avalon,” and “Take a Chance with Me”—each reflecting the band’s refined approach to melody and mood. With contributions from Phil Manzanera and Andy Mackay, and production by Rhett Davies, Avalon became Roxy Music’s most commercially successful release, earning platinum status and critical acclaim for its cohesive, atmospheric style
