Ryan's Fancy was a Canadian folk trio with Irish roots who became well known for their energetic performances of traditional Irish and Celtic material. Dark Island, released in 1971 on the Audat label, is an early album from the group featuring their blend of traditional Irish songs, reels, and ballads performed with acoustic instrumentation and close harmonies. The group went on to become a fixture on Canadian television through the 1970s, particularly in Newfoundland, where they built a devoted following.
