Ryan's Fancy was a Canadian trio — Dermot O'Reilly, Fergus O'Byrne, and Jerry Holland — known for bringing traditional Irish and Newfoundland folk music to Canadian audiences, largely through their popular CBC television series. Released in 1980 on Boot Records, *Sea People* continues in that vein with a mix of maritime folk songs, Celtic ballads, and the kind of lively, acoustic-driven material the group built their following on.
