Sad Café were a Manchester-based rock band who blended melodic pop rock with blues and occasional hard rock elements, and Misplaced Ideals was their second studio album, released in 1978 on A&M Records. The band featured vocalist Paul Young (not the solo artist of the same name) alongside a brass section that gave their sound a fuller, more layered feel than many of their contemporaries. The album sits comfortably in the late-70s British rock tradition, polished but with enough edge to appeal to fans of the era's harder pop rock.
