Sons of Erin were a Canadian Celtic folk group, and "The Town I Love So Well" was released in 1975 on the independent Erinson Records label. The album draws on traditional Irish and Celtic folk material, featuring vocal harmonies and acoustic instrumentation typical of the era's Celtic revival sound. The title track is a well-known Phil Coulter song that became closely associated with the city of Derry, Northern Ireland.
