Spirit of the West is a Vancouver-based folk rock band, and Tripping Up The Stairs is their second full-length album, released in 1987 on the Philo label. The record blends Celtic-influenced folk with rock and pop sensibilities, featuring the group's characteristic acoustic instrumentation and vocal harmonies. It was an early entry in their catalog before they gained wider Canadian recognition in the early 1990s.
