Stan Rogers was a beloved Canadian folk singer-songwriter who passed away in 1983, the same year this live album was released on his own Folk Tradition label. "For The Family" captures Rogers performing the kind of traditional and original folk material he was known for, with his powerful baritone voice at the center. The album includes some of his signature songs such as "Northwest Passage" and "Barrett's Privateers," both of which became enduring staples of Canadian folk music.
