Here's a pressing that doesn't surface nearly often enough – Steve Miller Band's deeply underrated 1972 effort "Recall The Beginning...A Journey From Eden" on Canadian Capitol. This album represents Miller at his most experimental and introspective, arriving right between the breakthrough success of "The Joker" sessions and his full embrace of the radio-friendly sound that would dominate the mid-70s. The record showcases Miller's fascination with Eastern philosophy and psychedelic textures, featuring extended jams and a more contemplative approach than his hits-driven material. Les Dudek's guitar work throughout is particularly noteworthy, adding layers of complexity that Miller would later streamline out of his sound.
