Here's a Canadian pressing of Stevie Ray Vaughan's legendary debut "Texas Flood" – the album that single-handedly pulled blues rock back from the brink and launched one of the most influential guitar careers in modern music history. Released in 1983, this record captured SRV at his hungriest, channeling decades of Texas blues tradition through his Stratocaster with an intensity that hadn't been heard since the genre's golden age. The album features his scorching take on Larry Davis's title track, plus originals like "Pride and Joy" and "Love Struck Baby" that became blueprints for blues rock revival. What many don't realize is that Vaughan recorded most of these tracks in just a few days, with producer John Hammond Sr. (the same Hammond who discovered Dylan and Springsteen) recognizing immediately that he was witnessing something special.
