Built for Speed is the 1982 US compilation from the Stray Cats, the New York rockabilly trio led by Brian Setzer, pulling together tracks from their first two UK albums for the American market. The record blends vintage 1950s-style rockabilly with a new wave energy that fit the early MTV era well, built around Setzer's sharp guitar work and the upright bass and stand-up drum kit of Lee Rocker and Slim Jim Phantom. "Rock This Town" and "Stray Cat Strut" both became major US hits from this release, with "Rumble in Brighton" and "Double Talkin' Baby" rounding out
