Released in January 1981, Paradise Theater is Styx’s ambitious concept album chronicling the rise and fall of a fictional Chicago venue as a metaphor for American decline. Blending arena rock hooks with theatrical flourishes, the album features standout tracks like “Too Much Time on My Hands” and “The Best of Times.”

Produced by Styx and engineered by Gary Loizzo, the Canadian pressing includes bilingual label text and a richly illustrated gatefold cover depicting the Paradise Theater’s faded grandeur. The album topped charts and became one of Styx’s most commercially successful releases.
