Styx's 1981 studio album Paradise Theatre was the band's follow-up to Cornerstone and marked a commercial peak for the Chicago-based rock group. A loose concept album built around the story of a fictional Chicago theater, it blends the arena rock and pop rock sound the band had refined through the late 1970s with some progressive rock elements. The record produced two of the band's most well-known singles, "The Best of Times" and "Too Much Time on My Hands," both of which received heavy radio airplay.
