Styx's tenth studio album, released in 1981 on A&M Records, *Paradise Theatre* is a concept album built around the rise and fall of a Chicago theater as a metaphor for American optimism. The record leans into the band's polished arena rock sound with strong melodic hooks and synthesizer-driven arrangements. It produced two of their biggest hits, "The Best of Times" and "Too Much Time on My Hands," and reached number one on the Billboard 200.
