Taco is a Dutch-Indonesian singer born Taco Ockerse, and After Eight is his 1982 debut album, released on RCA Victor. The record is a polished synth-pop and easy listening affair with a strong chanson influence, blending European cabaret sensibility with 1980s electronic production. It is best known for containing his international hit "Puttin' on the Ritz," a slick, heavily synthesized cover of the Irving Berlin standard that reached the top ten in numerous countries.
