The 50 Guitars of Tommy Garrett was a studio project led by producer and arranger Tommy Garrett, releasing a series of easy listening guitar ensemble albums through Liberty Records in the 1960s. This second volume in the South of the Border series continues the format of lush, orchestrated Latin-flavored instrumentals drawing on Mexican and broader Latin American musical styles. The recordings feature layered acoustic guitars arranged in a full, warm sound typical of the lounge and easy listening market of that era.
