The Amazing Rhythm Aces were a Memphis-based band blending country, rock, R&B, and soul into a distinctly Southern sound. Stacked Deck, released in 1975, was their debut album and features the group's best-known song "Third Rate Romance," which became a genuine crossover hit. The record also includes "Amazing Grace (Used to Be Her Favorite Song)," another strong example of the band's loose, genre-blending style that drew comparisons to other Southern rock acts of the era while carving out its own identity.
