(Who's Afraid Of?) The Art Of Noise is the debut album from the British avant-garde electronic group Art of Noise, released in 1984. The group, which included Anne Dudley, J.J. Jeczalik, and Gary Langan among others, emerged from the Trevor Horn production circle and built their sound around dense sampling, sequencing, and unconventional song structures. The album sits at the intersection of synth-pop and experimental electronic music, and includes the tracks "Beat Box" and "Close (To the Edit)," both of which received significant attention on the dance and alternative charts at the time.
