The Blues Brothers were the musical alter egos of comedians Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi, developed from their Saturday Night Live characters and launched into a full musical act and 1980 film. This 1981 Atlantic compilation draws from their studio and live recordings, collecting highlights from their run of R&B, soul, and blues-influenced rock and roll. Tracks include their well-known cover of "Soul Man" and "Gimme Some Lovin'," both of which feature the band's full horn-driven sound backed by a roster of seasoned session musicians.
