The Blues Brothers were the musical comedy duo of John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd, who rose to fame through Saturday Night Live and their 1980 film before releasing several studio and live records. Best Of The Blues Brothers, released in 1981 on Atlantic, is a compilation drawing from their earlier recordings and features their well-known covers of soul and R&B classics, including "Soul Man" and "Gimme Some Lovin'." The music leans heavily on Chicago blues, soul, and R&B, performed with a tight backing band that included notable session musicians.
