The Halifax Three were a Canadian folk group who released this self-titled debut on Epic in 1963, emerging during the peak of the early 60s folk revival. The trio featured Denny Doherty, who would later find fame with The Mamas and the Papas, alongside Pat Skaling and Richard Byrne. The album sits in the traditional folk and ballad style of the era, acoustic and vocal-harmony driven, in the vein of groups like The Kingston Trio and The Journeymen.
