The Jazz Giants is a 1968 traditional jazz session released on the Canadian label Sackville Recordings, featuring a seasoned ensemble of swing and Dixieland veterans including cornetist Wild Bill Davison, clarinetist Herb Hall, trombonist Benny Morton, pianist Claude Hopkins, bassist Arvell Shaw, and drummer Buzzy Drootin. The group plays in a relaxed, small-group swing style rooted in the classic New Orleans and Chicago traditions, the kind of straight-ahead ensemble jazz these musicians had been playing since the 1930s and 40s.
