The Kingbees were a Los Angeles rockabilly revival band led by Jamie James, and The Big Rock is their second album, released in 1981 on RSO Records. The record leans into classic 1950s-influenced rock and roll, drawing from early Elvis, Eddie Cochran, and Chuck Berry territory. Their cover of "My Girl Josephine" got some attention during this period when the rockabilly revival was gaining traction alongside acts like the Stray Cats.
