"Men Behind The Wire" is a 1972 Irish folk recording by The Men Behind The Wire, released on R & O Records. The title track, written by Paddy McGuigan, became one of the most widely circulated Irish republican songs of the Troubles era, responding directly to the internment without trial introduced in Northern Ireland in August 1971. The album sits within the Irish rebel folk tradition, featuring vocal harmonies and acoustic arrangements typical of the period.
