The Northern Pikes were a Canadian rock band from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and Secrets Of The Alibi is their second full-length album, released in 1988 on Virgin Records. The record sits in the jangly, guitar-driven alternative rock territory that was common to the Canadian college radio scene of the late 1980s. "She Ain't Pretty" became one of their most recognized tracks, though that song appeared on their following album — this one includes "Wait" and other solid mid-tempo rock cuts that established the band's melodic, hook-oriented sound.
