The Six Fat Dutchmen were a Minnesota-based polka band led by accordionist Harold Loeffelmacher, one of the more popular acts in the American polka circuit through the mid-20th century. "Ten Fat Hits" is a compilation released on the budget Pickwick/33 label, pulling together some of their well-known polka and waltz recordings. The album is straightforward Midwestern-style polka music, featuring the brass-heavy, accordion-driven sound the band was known for on the dance hall circuit.
