The Sons of the Pioneers were a vocal harmony group formed in the early 1930s, with founding member Roy Rogers among their original lineup, and they became one of the defining acts of the Western and cowboy music tradition. This 1988 Reader's Digest compilation brings together their classic recordings, drawing from a catalog that spans decades of close-harmony country and Western material. Songs like "Tumbling Tumbleweeds" and "Cool Water" are among the most recognizable tracks associated with the group and are likely represented here.
