The Stampeders were a Calgary-based rock trio who found considerable success in the early 1970s with their blend of rock and roll and pop sensibilities. Backstage Pass, released in 1974, is a Canadian compilation drawing together some of their well-known material, including the hit singles "Sweet City Woman" and "Wild Eyes." The band had a knack for catchy, radio-friendly rock that earned them a strong following across Canada and some crossover attention in the United States.
