The Stampeders were a Canadian rock trio from Calgary who found considerable success in the early 1970s with their blend of rock and country influences. From The Fire, released in 1973, captures the band during their commercial peak, featuring their well-known hit "Wild Eyes" alongside "Monday Morning Choo Choo." The album sits comfortably in the country rock vein that defined much of their output, drawing comparisons to other North American acts working that same territory at the time.
