Greetings From Timbuk 3 is the 1986 debut album from Austin-based duo Pat and Barbara K MacDonald, released on I.R.S. Records. The band built their sound around acoustic guitar, harmonica, and a boom box used for backing tracks, landing somewhere between folk, new wave, and quirky indie rock. The album produced their signature hit "The Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades," which became one of the more recognizable tracks of the mid-80s despite the duo's largely independent sensibility.
