Here's a pressing that showcases the legendary Tommy Dorsey at his peak, compiled during the early 1970s revival of interest in the big band era. This Canadian RCA Victor release captures TD's orchestra during their golden years of the late 1930s and 1940s, when Dorsey's smooth trombone work and impeccable arrangements were defining the sound of American popular music. The "Sentimental Gentleman of Swing" built one of the most commercially successful and musically sophisticated bands of the swing era, and this compilation pulls together some of his finest recorded moments, including tracks that featured a young Frank Sinatra during his formative years with the band.
