Here's a piece of Canadian rock history that doesn't surface nearly enough – Trooper's third studio album "Thick As Thieves" on original MCA Canada pressing from 1978. This Vancouver quintet had already established themselves as arena rock royalty north of the border with hits like "Raise a Little Hell" and "We're Here for a Good Time," but this album shows them at their creative peak, blending their trademark anthemic choruses with a grittier, more mature sound. The title track and "Oh, Pretty Lady" became staples of Canadian rock radio, while deeper cuts like "Santa Maria" showcase the band's ability to craft compelling narratives within their hard rock framework.
