Here's a Canadian pressing of the American Graffiti soundtrack on GRT Records, a release that captures one of cinema's most influential musical moments. When George Lucas was crafting his 1973 coming-of-age masterpiece, he made the bold decision to eschew a traditional orchestral score in favor of authentic period rock and roll from the late '50s and early '60s. The result was a double album that not only perfectly complemented the film's nostalgic atmosphere but also sparked a massive oldies revival that would dominate radio for years to come. This soundtrack essentially introduced a whole new generation to the golden age of rock and roll, featuring essential tracks from Buddy Holly, The Beach Boys, Chuck Berry, and The Platters, among others.
