La Bamba is the 1987 soundtrack to the biographical film about Ritchie Valens, featuring Los Lobos performing their versions of Valens' songs alongside period rock and roll tracks. Los Lobos' rendition of the title track "La Bamba" became a number one hit, and their take on "Come On, Let's Go" also appears here. The album blends late-1950s rock and roll with the East LA Chicano sound that Los Lobos brought to the material, giving the songs a raw, roots-driven energy rooted in that era.
