Top Gun is the 1986 soundtrack to the Tony Scott film of the same name, released on Columbia Records. The album blends mid-80s rock, synth-pop, and hi-NRG dance tracks from a range of artists including Kenny Loggins, Cheap Trick, Berlin, and Harold Faltermeyer. Loggins' "Danger Zone" and Berlin's "Take My Breath Away" were both major hit singles from the record, and Faltermeyer's "Top Gun Anthem" became closely associated with the film. It's a solid time capsule of mainstream American pop and rock production from the mid-80s.
