White Mansions is a 1978 concept album on A&M Records built around the Confederate perspective of the American Civil War, featuring an ensemble cast of country and rock artists including Waylon Jennings, Jessi Colter, Charlie Daniels, and Emmylou Harris. The project blends country, folk, and Americana into a song cycle narrating stories and characters from the Southern side of the conflict. It was produced by Glyn Johns and represents an interesting crossover moment between Nashville country and the British rock world, with Johns bringing in a transatlantic cast that also included David Cassidy and the band Waylors.
